Border Changes As Arabs Initiate Wars of Aggression
In 1947 Jews accepted the UN “Partition Plan” that recommended partitioning western Palestine into two new states, a sovereign independent Jewish state and a parallel Arab state. All Arab states denounced the plan, voting as a bloc against it, and promised to defy its implementation by force. Time and again Israel has returned land it gained in these Arab wars of aggression, in the hopes that this will deliver peace and stability. It has not.

Sinai Campaign: Israel gains control over the Sinai Peninsula territory.
Israel agrees to withdraw its troops from the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip, handing over these territories back to Egypt.
Israel borders following the Six-Day War. Egypt, Jordan and Syria in a war of aggression, lost the territories of the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank and the Golan Heights. For the first time Israel is in control of Jewish Mandated Palestine.
Israel borders following the Yom-Kippur War. In a clear act of aggression Egypt and Syria attacked the State of Israel, but were driven away.
1979 - Present
On March 26, 1979, Israel and Egypt signed a peace treaty on the White House lawn. Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula territory to Egypt.
